The historic Oulu City Hall in Finland has undergone a remarkable transformation, and we are proud to share that Futura Floors, in collaboration with our trusted production partner Xylon, played a pivotal role in this prestigious project.
As a landmark of cultural and architectural significance, Oulu City Hall required flooring solutions that not only respected its heritage but also catered to the unique demands of different spaces within the building. To meet these requirements, a variety of flooring styles were carefully selected:
- Solid ash flooring was chosen for the hallways, offering light, natural tones and durability for high-traffic areas.
- Solid oak herringbone (fishbone) flooring graces the conference rooms, blending timeless elegance with functionality.
- Old square mosaic parquet and palace mosaic parquet were installed in the ballrooms, adding intricate detail and a classic touch to these grand spaces.
These thoughtful choices ensured that each room maintained its distinct character while meeting the hall’s overall aesthetic and functional goals.
We are delighted to share stunning photos of the completed project, graciously provided by the City of Oulu. These images perfectly capture the transformation and showcase how our flooring solutions have enhanced the building’s charm and usability.
